Kudos to our fantastic gardeners and waterers! The garden is beautiful, fragrant and producing lots of great stuff. I stopped by about a week ago to snip some rosemary- that was fantastic in lamb kebobs- and I thought, wow, I should come back. This afternoon [my daughter] and I went and picked more than a dozen cucumbers, many of which were very, very large. And there are still a lot on the vine. Go get more!
The corn looks great and should be nearly ready in a few more weeks. I can’t tell about the carrots- we pulled two that were quite tiny, so we didn’t harvest any more. Eggplant is starting to come in.
The basil is gorgeous- looks like there is genovese and purple. Lots of oregano. Please pick the herbs- they will grow back even heartier. And fresh pesto is awesome. Our kids will have lots of great stuff to cook with/sample when they head back to school!
And if you can’t make it until this weekend- that’s perfect. Saturday, July 28 is a gardening day. You can help the garden get into even better shape. By the way- does anyone know how to stake tomatoes or have extra tomato cages? The tomatoes could use some help- and I have no idea how to do that.
