As I stood looking at the garden early that morning It all set in.
The Garden is rich with life and really embodies all of us. From last year at this time to now you can feel the communal support the garden has received.
The garden has grown tremendously. Currently the garden just yielded Sunflowers, green peppers, ichiban eggplant, lots of carrots, some cucumbers, and Herbs( Basil, Oregano, Mint, Dill, Rosemary). Students, parents, neighbors, and staff have had a chance to partake in a little of the harvest.
The volunteers that came out on the 28th rock. I know it’s summer. It’s hot but the garden still got a little TLC. I want to send a special thanks to our young garden stewards that helped with harvesting, weeding, and playing. All of the support really makes me see how this is part of something positive. I’m so excited to offer our children this environment. I’ve planned additional gardening activities for our students and am looking forward to a great year.
Peace,
Mr. Taylor
