Drop Off Instructions

Be Safe. Be Courteous. Be Patient.

Morning Drop off

Drop off in the morning will be allowed from 8:00am, breakfast will start at 8:10.

Children should report either to the cafeteria if they are having breakfast (parents can accompany them, if they choose), or to the Multipurpose Room where a program called Box will be offered to give children some physical activity time in the morning. This service is geared toward primary children, is free, and might include some outdoor activity when weather permits.

Afternoon Pick up

Pick-up for primary (PK3-K) students is at 3:15pm. There will be a sign out sheet for primary students at pick up time.

Pick-up for elementary (1-6) and middle-school students (7-8) is at 4:15pm

Playground

Access to the playground before school is only available to students enrolled in Springboard.  Learn more about Springboard before- and after-care options. non-Springboard children are not allowed on the playground unattended in the morning before school.

Children with parents or guardians may be allowed to use the playground after school or during bridge hour if they are using it responsibly and are actively supervising their kids.

Transit

Capitol Hill Montessori @ Logan is accessible via several public transit options.

  • Metro Red + Green line train at Union Station
  • D8, X1, X2 Buses on H Street NE
  • DC Streetcar on H Street NE.

Union Station is 2-blocks from the school and provides numerous other options. Visit WMATA Trip and Service planner for more transit details.

Driving

Parents who drive to school are asked to observe the ‘No Parking’ and ‘15 Minute Parking’ signs along the streets bordering the school. Double parking is never allowed in front of the school. Cars will be ticketed when they violate the parking restrictions. If all the street parking spots are occupied, parents are encouraged to park in the parking lot for both drop off and pick up. All parents are asked to be especially cautious when driving and parking near the school, to look out for the safety of children arriving at or leaving the building, and to respect neighbors who also need access to parking on streets surrounding the schools.

These rules are imposed for the safety our students and apply to every parent. Let’s keep students safe during drop-off and pick-up!

Absences

If you are late or need to report an absence, you’ll need to email Ms. Moore and your child’s teacher.
