Embassy Adoption Program

Learning about different cultures locally and throughout the world is an important part of a Montessori education. By helping students examine the similarities and differences among people everywhere, we build in them a sense of connection to all human beings. Students gain a deeper understanding of what a community is.

At Capitol Hill Montessori at Logan, these goals are supported through the Embassy Adoption Program (EAP). EAP is an academic program primarily for older elementary students. Our school is paired with the French Embassy. Together with the embassy representative and program coordinator Madame Anna Hylton, students embark on a yearlong adventure to explore French history, culture, arts, geography, food, and more.

For school year 2013–2014, participating students engaged in activities related to French holidays, a Galette tasting, a lunch and movie at the French Embassy, a crepes evening at school, and French Food Day.
