Thanks to everyone from the CHM@L community that came out on Saturday, January 28 - we had a great morning working with the all-volunteer group from Hands on DC and Booze Allen Hamilton. In case you can’t identify all of the work that was done, we’ve posted pictures to Flickr. The projects included: welcome murals in front lobby, mascot mural in front lobby, international flags hung in lobby and corridors, fruit/veggies mural in the Cafeteria, painted stage and lower portion of walls in Multipurpose Room, library mural (with painted bookcases and characters from favorite books), francophone world map in French Room, painting of walls and door in French Room, white board painting in various teaching spaces, painting of cabinets in Admin., fire extinguisher cabinet painting around building, and the list goes on and on.
Be sure to thank Mr. Eatman when you see him, without his support, we never could have dreamed so big with the Hands on DC crew. And thank parents Amy Upton, Jim Roberts and Tom Kavanagh for their organization of the event. We need more volunteers come March and May for our next rounds of campus beautification - outdoor garden/classroom and playground game striping. More to follow later on that!
