Service Clubs

Service to others is an important aspect of educating the whole child. In applying the Montessori approach, we teach our students to be stewards and caretakers of the Earth and its inhabitants. We help to create caring, empathetic students who are capable of thinking beyond themselves. In performing community service, students learn the joy of giving and develop compassion through real, practical life volunteer experiences. At Capitol Hill Montessori at Logan, our students are able to participate in two service programs: Builders Club and Kiwanis Kids, both sponsored by Capitol Hill Kiwanis.

Builders Club

Builders Club is a student-led organization that provides opportunities to perform service, build character, and develop leadership skills. Builders Club members are Middle Grade students.

Kiwanis Kids

Kiwanis Kids (K-Kids) helps children learn leadership skills through service. The children take on the responsibility of running the club as they plan and participate in community service projects. K-Kids is open to students in Grades 2–5. Capitol Hill Montessori at Logan Builders Club and K-Kids organize food drives, pajama drives, service days, and compost and recycling programs at school. Both clubs meet weekly to discuss and plan projects. They are monitored by Ms. Lesa Warrick.
