Walking & Biking

Our school is located in the heart of historic Washington, D.C. with wide sidewalks, marked crosswalks, and bike lanes. Students of CHL live around the city, some within direct walking distance and others that can use transit or biking to get close enough to walk.

Parent/guardians with children who walk to school and/or home from school without parent supervision will be required to submit a written notification to the Main Office by emailing Shemeka Barrett (shemeka.barrett@k12.dc.gov) on or before their child’s first day of school. The notification must come from an authorized parent/guardian. Any changes to the arrival or dismissal method will need to be submitted in advance to the Main Office in writing.

All same day changes to dismissal method must be communicated to the student’s teacher and Shemeka Barret (shemeka.barrett@k12.dc.gov) before 1pm that day.

Waking/Biking: Before Care

Registration of Bus Riders from Logan or JC Nalle

Each student must be registered with the Main Office at Capitol Hill Montessori @ Meyer as a bus rider before they can ride a school bus.
