Once again, welcome to our beautiful Montessori school, we are excited you’ve chosen CHML to begin your child’s primary education. I imagine you are full of questions and wonderings about the upcoming school year. Happy to share we will have a back-to-school parent orientation and family picnic on Saturday, August 12th from 10:00am-2:00pm where you will have the opportunity to receive information and ask questions as well as meet with other members of the CHML family. Building tours will also be provided.
Here a few items to take note of:
- All new PK3 and PK4 families will be contacted by your child’s teacher to inform you of your phase in date. A component of the Montessori pedagogy is setting the stage for your child’s success when starting school for the first time. As such, each child is phased in so they have a unique opportunity to have their guide(teacher) give them direct attention and orient them to the classroom. In other words all students except for the returning PK4 and K’s have a staggered start. Please be on the look out for a message from your child’s teacher with your child’s start date and other pertinent information relating to the upcoming school year . All new PK3 and new PK4 students will be phased in by September 15th or earlier.
- Potty training is not a requirement for enrollment into our primary program. We do strongly encourage toilet learning to be a part of your child’s daily plan leading up the start of school. Please have your child wear under garments to school that are not diapers or pull ups as this may slow down the toilet independence process.
- Breakfast is provided for all students free of cost. NEW this school year: all CHML students will be provided lunch free of cost.
